About Crohn’s disease

Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic autoimmune condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the gastrointestinal tract. Those with CD may experience symptom-free periods (remission), with occasional worsening of symptoms (flares).  

Symptoms of Crohn's disease can include:  

  • Diarrhea  
  • Blood in your stools 
  • Abdominal pain/cramps 
  • Fatigue 
  • Lack of appetite  
  • Unexplained weight loss  
  • Sudden or urgent need to go to the toilet
